In the summer of 2012, I traveled to England and played at my cousin's wedding ceremony. It was then that I realized how enjoyable and rewarding it would be to make my dreams come true, to play more often in these classy settings. I decided it was time to make my dreams a reality. After all, why not? I finished studying English language at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with the intent of becoming an editor at a children's books publishing company. I minor in music, of course, because that's what I love most. I was told once to choose to do your second favorite thing in the world as a career, but to keep your first favorite thing as a hobby. That way you won't get sick of it. It will always be fun. It will always bring you joy. You will always love it.

I knew that as a music major, I would learn and grow in many ways as a musician. However, I also knew that I would be required to do what everyone else wanted. I would not always have the choice to play what I wanted in my own way. Nobody should try to control another musician's style. I feel that my style is one of the most unique and important aspects of my music. I often ignore the guidelines written in a piece. I instead choose to play in whichever way the music naturally takes me...
For it has been said that I do not just play notes. I play music.
